Adverbs tell us more about how the verb is performed. They make the verb stronger. Sometimes they are next to the verb: I listened attentively. Sometimes the adverb is somewhere else in the sentence: She put down the vase carefully. Students have to use the adverbs in the box to strengthen the verbs in the sentences.
