I used this song for more practice of the past simple tense. Students put the verbs in parentheses in the correct form and then listen to the song to check their answers. Students were asked afterwards to retell the story in groups of three. I also followed it a short discussion. And then discuss if the couple made a good choice and what they should do.
I used this same song for a heated discussion during a unit that talked about love and marriage in an intermediate level class. It generated a great discussion on which to choose (if you ever have to), your lover or your family?
