Dream House

After introducing the vocabulary of housing and furniture, put students into groups to design their dream houses. One person can “draft” the plan while the whole group contributes to the design and furnishing of the house. The teacher might model this on the board first—drafting the layout of the floor plan and then discussing with the students what should go into each room. The students can then work together to complete their plans.
This provides practice in speaking skills, group work, vocabulary, and critical thinking in the planning of the house.
