Birthday Chart

A colourful birthday chart to use in class to remind the students’ birthdays, which can also be used to teach the months of the year, numbers and dates.
Activity suggestion:

1. Give a copy of the graph to each student.
2. Ask students to write their name on the graph.
3. Students walk around the class asking their colleagues “ When's your birthday?”, then they write their colleague's name in the appropriate space and the day of the corresponding month.
4. Students fill in their graph, colouring the space that corresponds to the month of their classmate's birthdays. In the square, they may write the number by asking “on what days in January / February…?”
5. After the bar graph is completed, you may ask questions such as “ How many students have their birthday in March?”
6. You may want to take an enlarged copy of the graph and fill it in according to the answers in order to display class birthdays.
