The text is from the NY Times Learning Network and I created a vocabulary exercise using 10 words from the text. To introduce the article I used the title, The Roswell Incident, as a hangman sentence and then had students brainstorm/discuss what they knew about Roswell. After reading the article, students completed the vocabulary exercise, using the article for support (answer key is included). I then used the photo included as a starting point for a discussion about their thoughts on Roswell, UFOs and aliens in general, including other possible explanations for the strange things that people have seen. The students enjoyed the text and the discussion - I hope yours will too!
