Here is a read-and-match activity devised to get your students talking, laughing and learning/revising vocabulary in an unusual context. Use it to generate a discussion about gender stereotypes, differences between men and women, and their roles in the society. Works great with upper-intermediate and advanced students; for intermediate students, you might want to pre-teach some vocabulary (i.e. "a wishing well" "to come clean" "gold digger" etc).
Students match captions to the cartoons cut out from pages 3-6. The first two pages contain the original cartoons and serve as the answer key. You can make it a mingling activity by splitting the cartoons between one group of students, and the captions between the other.
Have fun!
