Relative Pronoun Speaking Practice
I use this game as additional practice for my FCE-level students to review the use of the 7 relative pronouns, after we have done several classroom exercises. I put the students in groups of 4-5, depending on class size and give each group an envelope with the game cards folded up inside. The students take turns selecting a slip from the envelope. Their partners must guess the noun or noun phrase on the slip from the sentence clues given them using relative clauses. The student with the slip continues to give clues until someone guesses the word or everyone gives up. If no one guesses what is on a slip, the student giving the clues gets to keep the slip. At the end of the game, the student with the most slips wins. Easy and fun and the Excel file with the game cards can be edited for vocabulary at any level.
