Grammar tenses, as any other type of information, can be learned a lot more easily when the information has already been processed by someone else. I'm using this template to help my less successful students catch up with peers. It works very well, especially when combined with translation as a strategy (not as an aim). Grammar cannot be the objective of English teaching and learning, but that is not a reason to forget how powerful grammar can be in building students' security and self-esteem.
