A popular song to work with children. This is a 1975 hit from the Swedish band ABBA’s album, ABBA. The title is an Italian interjection expressing surprise or anguish (literally, "My mother"). In 1999 the song gave its title to a successful West End stage musical written by the British playwright Catherine Johnson, based on ABBA’s songs. A film adaptation of the musical, starring Meryl Streep and Colin Firth, was released in 2008.
