Before showing students an excerpt of the British TV series Poldark where they will see the scenes of a card game at a gambling table, hand out the worksheet. You can find episode 6 of this costume drama on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25TwjEFUsEA&index=4&list=PLgzINR6eYS2UIcmMsnTKzg1fn9GI-wnxg); play from minute 27:13 - 41:24. In between the gambling scenes other things will be going on, but tell students just to enjoy listening to native English in the meantime :) Learners are not going to hear all of the words from the alphabetical list as I added a few of my own.You can discuss the questions after watching and follow up with playing a few simple card games yourselves where players will have to name the cards from time to time in order to practise the words for the suits.
